Stuart Weitzman was founded by Stuart A. Weitzman. He was born in 1942. He was a young talent, designer and founder of internationally renowned high-end and exuberant shoe company.
Stuart Weitzman has mastered in using unique materials like cork, vinyl, Lucite, wallpaper and 24-karat gold as its official trademark creating a vibrant flavor in your dressing symphony. Mr. Weitzman’s pin point details provided new path frames for his emerging business. His shoes were sold in 45 nation’s world over and the business is ever expanding.
Globally renowned magazines were showing its front page with the company profile. This new company grew to become a sensation in 2000 and renowned faces were trend setting this fabulous new extravaganza.
Weitzman bore this entrepreneurship from his father, Seymour Weitzman who started a shoe factory in Haverhill, Massachusetts. During the 1950’s the factory produced “Seymour Shoes” which were also sold under the label “Mr. Seymour.” Weitzman was already a talent back then. He had started designing shoes for his father’s industry in the early 60’s.
In 1958, Weitzman graduated in Business from George W. Hewlett High School and from Wharton School of business in 1963. When his father Mr. Seymour died back in 1965, the business fell under the hands of Weitzman brothers (Stuart Weitzman and his older brother Warren Weitzman). But in 1972, they sold their business to a Spanish company. Stuart Weitzman did not give up. He continued to design shoes for the company. And in 1994, his dream come true, Stuart bought back business. Meanwhile he is still producing shoe designs in Spain.
2002 onwards, Stuart Weitzman proposed a million dollar shoe to an Oscar Nominee to wear the shoes at the Oscars. A fashion widget was born and glowing. Stuart Weitzman is now a fashion ideal and the shoe company is a legend.
